Autoloc or Vertical Doors Inc?
I ordered a conversion kit from vertical doors inc a few weeks back. Still waiting on them to arrive unfortunately, but while waiting I started calling around to see if I could find somebody willing and capable to put these things on for me.
I asked a friend who called an old friend with a body shop who seems to fit the bill, but he's telling me "if you don't want to mess up your doors and fenders, you need to buy the good stuff, check out autoloc. It'll probably cost twice as much as what you paid but we'll make up for it on the install, since it's so much easier to do." So if you guys don't mind, I'd really appreciate it if some people would weigh in with their perspectives. I really am considering switching, and it shouldn't be terribly difficult to sell the VDI kit if needed. I do like the idea of going remote controlled automatic, but that's not really the point here. Will the VDI kit be harder to install, and will it "mess up my doors and fenders"? I know you have to do some trimming to the fenders but I assumed that was required with all the kits. Thanks.

Ive had Vertical doors inc. on my car for 2 years or more, i havnt had any problems, its all user control, dont leave your doors up in the wind or open to hard your fenders are fine, both will be just as difficult to install, vertical doors inc is a good company and have my backing. Shocks are still working strong and i use very frequently and leave up for hours at car shows.

Since this guy's already biased towards the autoloc I feel like he'll half ass it and try to prove to me why I should have went with his suggestion... I've been thinking about visiting some old friends in San Antonio for a while now so if you're interested in doing a weekend install just shoot me a quote.

Lupe did mine and I love them, never had any issues with mine. You should cancel your order and have Lupe do it for you. He is an authorized VDI seller and installer. He can do it all for you. You live in Texas. I drove 32 hours total to have him do mine. Everytime I put the doors up, they always turn heads.

I'd take the others advise and let Lupe install them. I've seen his work and it's top notch! You could make a pretty nice weekend out of it too!

Thanks for the input guys. Lupe sent me a quote for part and install. Hopefully he'll install the kit I ordered from VDI and I'll be good to go.
