The Camaro was a game-changer and all of the other brands loyal fan base should thank GM!

I agree, these cars were and are special and just because it has become easy and commonplace to buy a 500+ hp car now, doesn't lessen GM's achievement then, or mean just everyone can handle 500+ hp.

The buzz everywhere you went was incredible. Good times, for sure.
Indeed, at the time this car was a game changer. I remember saying to my son how powerful these cars were many years ago. I never thought I would buy one. My last camaro was a '93 Z28 with an LT1 and 275hp. Times sure change and 500hp is no longer supercar status.

I have it because I have an early order R6P Camaro. I thought only the R6P cars got this badge but I could be wrong.

They were put on until some time in September of 09. Then they stopped for about a month or so, and came back with the Chevy Performance badge. Then in 12 with the ZL1 they started using the GM Performance badge.

My SS that was built in Sept of 09 had no Chicklets, had backup sensors and performance badge. There was a point the cars were all over the place depending upon the supply of badges. They used stuff until the supply was gone.

You caught my fuzzy memory, danvillekid! You are correct. The lock switch was in the dash, the windows were always in the doors.

Your second photo reminds me. I had my dealer save every piece of plastic
on my SS when it was new in '09. Also the factory floor mats have never
been out of my Camaro nor that plastic under them. I have an accessory
set of mats covering everything since new. Anyone else that anal about
their 5th gen Camaro?

I'm not so sure about your last two sentences. I think orders were coming
down from corporate re all of this during the reorganization. but then again,
who knows?

I am not quite that far gone, but I took delivery exactly as you see it and removed it all at home. I have all of the papers for the build that the factory left in the car. My dealer never stuck the window sticker and saved it for me. I have copies of the sales brochures and any promo stuff I could grab up.

I had done the same for the 2010. All of the stuff that belonged to that car went into a big envelope in the trunk when I traded it. I know it left my dealer to auction that way. Hopefully the next owner got it and cared.

nice! I did the same for my truck when I traded. 100% documented service records as well.

When my dealer called and said they were finally unloading my new Camaro I rushed
there and removed the front plate bracket from the trunk. It was noted on the sales
contract "No front Plate" but I wasn't taking any chances. Ct is a 2 plate state but it's
never enforced. Great memories indeed.

I just traded my '13 ZL1 for a '17. The perf badge has the bowtie again. Anyone know when they went back to that? I ordered my SS May '09 and took delivery July '09. Chicklets, bowtie perf badge, no sensors.

Not really, very few have the white steering connector <--- lack of a better word.. So far I have only seen them on 1LE's. Some stated they are on ZL1's the last five or six I have seen did not. Still wondering why the 1LE has a white one. Sorry for off topic...
