The Recaros just have deeper side bolsters. They are a bit of a PITA to get in and out of (6'1" 190#).

I really like them to prevent sliding around at the track. If I wasn't tracking the car the standard seats seem like they would be as, or more, comfortable and easier to get in and out of.

They have different foam, and more aggresive thigh and back bolstering. When I switched out my seats I felt A LOT more comfortable in them, I'm 6'2 220. They are slightly tricky to get into so I could see it being difficult for an elderly person to get into easily. But I prefer them to stock to say the least. Let alone the fact that they are gorgeous.

I sat in Recaro's at CamaroFest and I have a 2013 ZL1 and they are a more comfortable seat for me. (6'2" 230ish) I would love to have them in my car but the price tag which I suspect will be something north of $4K will definitely be detrimental.

The best advice I can offer, find a 2014 1LE or ZL1 with recaro's and sit in it and see if you like it. If you're searching for my car (2012-13 grey ZL1, sunroof, loaded) then recaro's will be aftermarket.

I was sold on the recaros a couple of years back after sitting in a friend's CTSV which had recaros. The caddy's recaros felt amazing, and at that time I had no knowledge of plans for recaros to be offered in the camaro. Fast forward to 2013, when I learned of the recaros as being offered as optional seats for the camaro, the choice for me was a no-brainer. I've always liked the 5th gen's seats, but the recaros feel firmer and you get a sense of being better planted into the cockpit. They are a bit tricky to get in and out of (worse if you have a tight garage), but the feel and smell of the seats and interior more than make up for the slight put-off.

Oh yes, that "new car smell"! Unfortunately the byproduct of
off gassing" of the plastic in the car.

4k for a 2k option. but supply and demand played a part of the reason why that person is asking 4k.

I was told at C5FEST by a Recaro rep they'd be Out in the aftermarket offering from GM. For the early years from 2010 to 2013 Very very SOON? That was May 2nd still no word from GM?
