Door Panel Inserts

Anyone have their door panel inserts covered in vinyl?

I guess its possible to Plasti Dip them but the idea doesn't thrill me.

Ive seen them custom painted but don't really want to have my door torn apart to do it and seems a bit pricey from what Ive seen.

I would think that someone who knew what they were doing could cover these in vinyl while they are still on the car.

Picture is for illustration purposes. I'm talking about the red insert. Looks like these ones are custom painted but I don't want to drop hundreds for a cosmetic upgrade at this point.

They are super easy to take out. I had the cloth on mine, and was able to have both door panels off, cleaned, plasti dipped, and re installed in a few hours.

I had some custom vinyl done at http://www.facebook.com/vengeancegraphix
I didn't take the panels off, I just did a stick & trim.

I really like this idea! I was thinking when I'm ready I can probably do it myself as well--but in the Phoenix summers the inside of my car will be hotter than actual Hell, so the professional install is probably my better choice.

Pulled ALL the internal gray/silver trim pieces and painted CRT to match exterior color. Very easy.

EXCELLENT. Thanks for sharing, this is exactly what I was thinking about (minus the graphics). Probably just go with a solid color.

Yep, go to a local vinyl shop and have them do it.
Probably lots of colors to choose from.
They should knock it out in about 15 minutes.
But if you want to get "fancy" with it, anything is possible.

Cool look. Only question I have is, as far as vinyl on the inserts, is for those cars with the factory ABL on them, how difficult would it be to put vinyl there without adversely affecting the ABL?

A good shop will either use the film like mine where the light shows through and is diffused farther down the panel.
Or they will use knifeless tape, and cut a fine line at the top of your panel in the vinyl
