I am curious about time of day for the incident, and method the police used to measure the speed.

Long ago, my *cough* friend *cough* and his friend rode their motorcycles across Georgia at night on the interstate. At a steady 90-95 mph. At one point, TWO Georgia state troopers passed the speeding motorcycles at something well over 100. No stop. No ticket. No fuss, no muss, no water, no brushes.

I am surprised that you were not arrested and required to bond out under Georgia's super speeder law. Get a good lawyer, you will need one.

You are so screwed. The fact that you didn't get ticketed on the spot for an infraction does not bode well for you. Expect to get charged with something heavy when you appear in court. I really hope you get yourself a lawyer. One of my buddies got busted in California for doing 105 in a 55 zone. His car was impounded, had to pay a massive fine and spent a night in jail. To top it all off, his nearly new Mustang 500KR got dinged/scratched and his digital SLR and laptop were stolen from his car while it was in impound. I could tell over the phone that he was ready to start ugly crying. Good luck dude, you are going to need it.

Of course your friend got all that. 110mph in a 55 is considered MAN SLAUGHTER... Every state - 2x the speed limit is Man Slaughter. He was doing 105, if he sneezed he could have done 110. That is how the officer looks at it.

Please explain... Manslaughter is the accidental, or unintended killing of someone. How is "2X the limit" manslaughter, if nobody was killed?

Sounds like Ass Talking to me...

Also, "Could Have" is a WAY different thing than "did". If I was brought to court because I "Could Have" been speeding, I would ask why everyone else on the highway wasn't pulled over, because EVERY car out there "Could" have been speeding. i.e they are capable of doing 110 MPH.

Come on man! Manslaughter for speeding and not getting into an accident that caused a death. I would hope you couldn't get a manslaughter charge for speed. The prisons would be so full.

I would imagine that Florida and Georgia have reciprocity as far as motor vehicle offences. When the points hit your Florida license (if Florida lets you keep it), bend over for your insurance company.
