I love my Wrangler and have had it for 10 years, but I don't think I would put a 17yo in one. Terrible safety, low side impact ratings, tends to oversteer easily because of the short wheelbase, a little top heavy in a turn... just not all the things I want in a car for a teenager who is statistically more likely to hit me while I am driving my Jeep!
Then againe, it's a great vehicle for a young guy because chicks dig it. |

If you're looking for a car-like ride.....NO
Reason why I bought the VW GTI for gas mileage and long road trips. The 07-11 are little bit more comfortable than the older models, once I got the 30 x 9 tires on a few years ago. The ride felt more comfortable...in it's elements of dirt, rocks and snow ride is .

I have a 95 and I love it for being underpowered with it's anemic 2.5 litre 4 cylinder and 198,500 miles, the only major trouble I had is when the 5th gear went. But besides that it's been durable and reliable. But would I put a 17 year old in it? Maybe.
Thier fun and easy as hell to modify and work on. I do better with mine in the snow than in my parents pick up. Course I got 31 inch mud tires |

Have one right here. 2006 Wrangler. Handling isn't amazing, but these babies turn on a dime, and the short wheelbase should help with avoiding parking accidents. Something else that is good is that these things are boxes, aerodynamics hold me down to 93mph downhill with a tailwind! Love the thing to death though. The 4.0 in mine is extremely reliable, which is why Chrysler used them forever. These things also hold value better than almost any other car on the market. You'd be hard pressed to find ANY Wrangler that runs for less than $5,000

I drive a 2010 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and I love it. I traded in my '08 G8 GT for it because my needs changed.
Handling: 5 Speed: 4 Reliability (so far): 10 Fun: 10+ As others have said: it's about as aerodynamic as a brick, but when you drop the top and hit the road there's nothing like it. |
