Trailers?

Looking to purchase an open trailer to transport my Camaro to and from races. Question is how long of a deck do I need? Any suggestions?

I have a 16' car hauler/flatbed dual axle I purchased for a cross country trip when I moved my 68 Camaro, it can handle a total of 9000 pounds, I loaded that thing down and it just did awesome, now I just use it for hauling garbage.
A 16' 0r 18' is more than enough for towing cars. Just make sure you get a good brake system on it, you will thank me later for it.

I'd recommend a closed trailer personally, if it's a long drive that is. Lots of rock chips happen on open trailers.

Minimum length for a trailer would be 16', as Camaro's are roughly 15'8" long. Minimum weight would be 4,000. stock Camaro's run around 3800 lbs.

Enclosed trailers are nice, but its a bear getting in and out of your car once loaded. On the other hand, stone chips can be a problem with open trailers, but those can be somewhat prevented by installing some kind of nose guard on the trailer. Make sure it has electric brakes and dual axles. Metal floor and 16" center cross members. I also suggest a tilt bed vs ramps. With the Camaro's lower ground clearance, ramps might be a problem.
