Im with you guys in thinking that they may bump power up for the 2016 vette. We now know that the new Camaro will have tubular headers which should make more power than the cast iron headers on the LT1 in the vette. Other wise, why would GM spend the extra cash to put tubular headers on an engine that was going to make less power. If the 16 vette gets the same headers and gets 475 hp, then I could see the Camaro getting 470ish. This is all speculation and we could just get a detuned 450 hp engine but who knows

I don't see the Camaro as competing with the Corvette. The Camaro is a GT car and the Corvette is a sports car. Even with the same engine as the Corvette, due to its design it will be faster and handle better. Although as we have seen, even being at a disadvantage the Camaro has turned out to be pretty good as a sports car as well.

Sell it as 426 horses and let it make 475, that would be "classic". It has happened before.

SAE power rating standards prevent you from doing this now, but it was definitely one of the cool things about the 1st gen z28

Will the LT1 come with factory headers like the Mustang 5.0?

We have already seen a preview of the LT1's exhaust manifold.

More than 20 percent of the 6.2L LT1 V-8 engine has been tailored to fit the packaging for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro – including unique, tubular “tri-Y” exhaust manifolds.

I don't know if I'll bite on that, but the LSA in the CAMARO does have a better blower/ intercooler hat and electric power steering. The LSA in the V has hydraulic steering with a PS pump running off the belt drive. It can't all be from an intercooler pump.
