OEM Wheel Paint Color (Midnight Hyper)

I need to repair the curb rash on my 2014 Stock Wheels - Midnight Hyper is the term - I think. Can someone help me with the Dupli-color number for this? Any advice on the process. I've watched all the vids on prep. Do I use a clear coat after painting. Never done this on OEM wheels.

They do look clear coated. Mine have a few spots too. You could ask the local body shop for the paint code then ask Duplicolor to give you their code. From what I remember though Duplicolor has the factory code right on the can. I would use higher quality products though. With wheels you also want a hardened clearcoat.

Good to know. I have considered ordering from them to do my GFX side skirts and diffuser. I already have a compressor and spray gun.

bdm14107, a 2K clear coat, like Spray Max brand 2K, is also a very good option. That stuff is much more durable and will finish much more glossy (or not depending on the finish purchased) than your normal clear coat in a can, and has a separate chamber with an activated hardener in it. Just make sure to wear a respirator with that stuff, as it has isocyanates in it.

The stock SS rims are midnight silver. Once we get past winter I will be repairing/repainting a rim.

Can a shop powder coat a rim with the duplicator paint?

The 5th gen Camaro 20" wheels were offered in three different finishes. Hyper Silver on cars without RS option. Midnight silver came on cars with RS option. Polished finish could be ordered instead of hyper or midnight silver.
