Same old GM Salesmen

Went to the Classic car races at Fontana yesterday. On the way home stopped at two Chevy dealers to look into ordering a 2011 Camaro. First, both salesmen were clueless as to 2011 pricing. 2nd, Both said they'd give me the retired GM employee discount which at this time, anyway, is 0. GM is making great cars but they seem to have the same snakeoil sales staff. Makes my head tired.
BTW, the races, as always were great. $20 and you get to wandered around the garages, pits, et al. Stuff you wouldn't get near at a big race. Lots of fun.
Only downside for the day, other than the salesmen, was a 2010 Black Camaro so covered with mud and dirt that it looked like had been parked outside a beatup doublewide outside of Barstow. A pig or pen of chickens in the backseat would have been appropriate (no pix)

Based on what Eric and CamaroScotty has said, EVA (employee discount) is $250 on all Camaros IIRC. Plus you'd get the Preferred discount with using the employee discount. Not exactly sure what that is at the moment.

There is indeed Preferred Pricing available for the Camaro.

Go here...

www.GMFamilyFirst.com

Click on the Vehicle Shopping Drop-down List.

Click "Build Your Own."

Build your own. It'll give you Preferred Pricing as well as the $250 EVA.

They're all (almost all) the same...Nissan, Honda, Ford, Chrysler....some of them are simply salesman and its what they do...."close the deal".

Get all of your pre-purchase info here on cam5 and then buy the car from Becky at Rodgers Chevy...trust me, you won't regret it. Many from all over the country have done so.

EVA doesn't mean employee pricing. EVA stands for Employee Vehicle Allowance and that is meant for employees only. If you do not work for GM you do not get that extra $250 off.

Can you even get Preferred Pricing if you aren't an employee or friend/family of an employee?

Thanks for the help guys

Found the discount for the 2010. For now I'll assume it's the same for 2011 when dealing with dealerships. Plus, I think $385 price increase.

If you're family, you get EVA as well. We just did on our new GMC. Was worth another $1500 in addition to the $2300 preferred price discount.

The way is works is, if you're like a supplier, etc., or are otherwise eligible (I think the dealer can give it to anyone), you qualify for the preferred pricing. If you're an employee, retiree, or eligible family member, you get to pile on the EVA, if there is one. This is GM's way of not extra discounting, or deeply discounting models to employees and their families. I think it's reviewed quarterly. Not as good as the old days, I must say. We got over 3K off our Camaro in October. Now I think it's around 1200 or so. Haven't checked lately. It's not as good as it was on Camaro, that's for sure.

And if you have the GMExtendedFamily MasterCard, albiet a 1% unlimited earnings, you get to take that off the price in ADDITION to all eligible employee discounts. Can't do that with the regular GM Card.
