I know thread is old. Today I took some readings on my Air Intake temperatures.

At idle, car at normal operating temp, not moving for more 5 minutes.
Ambient temp = 77*
Air Intake Temp = 120*

At idle, car at normal operating temp, red light to green light.
Ambient temp = 77*
Air Intake Temp = 90*

At 85 MPH, car at normal operating temp.
Ambient temp =77*
Air Intake Temp = 82* mostly, sometimes droped to 80* and up to 83.

Good write up. This debate has been going on for years on here. Always a temp comparison. But nobody has ever put any of the more common cai to the test at a track. I've been saying it for years....you are not winning or losing a race based solely on your choice of cai. People just cheerlead the cai they have on their car...which is fine. Old thread tho.

Pretty much seems like all N\A applications get around the same hp with aftermarket intakes. Boosted is a whole other story

I forgot to mention I have a K&N.
I also added an intake on the bumper thats directs its to the filter. These are the new readings.
At 85 MPH 77 degrees ambient temp. My lowest got 79 Air intake temp.
