Simple fix is to remove it, take it into your garage and leave it there. Ugly lump.

OP - here’s what I did.....my cover went under the knife. I got this idea from another Camaro 5 member. Since I never liked the center section of the engine cover I cut that out; thereby exposing the good-looking and classic LS intake manifold. I left the covers over the valve covers to hide what I didn’t like about those parts. Added the emblem and a bit of red and matt black paint on the strut bar and it contrasts well for me. Heat flows up and out as well.

(The car is my daily driver and no problems with this for a year now)

I personally think the worm-gear clamps look far uglier than the engine cover.

So the main thing is to realize why the cover is there.
It not only has an aesthetic role, but also helps the engine to reach and maintain operating temperature as soon as possible. Not a mild climate is everywhere.

I also painted my cover on my car.

Nah, warm intake air isn't ideal, or else manufacturers would still use aluminum intake manifolds.

In the catalog, it's called

cover, acoustic

Keeps the noise of the upper valvetrain and injectors down.
