Automotive News, MotorTrend, National Enquirer....regardless of the source, you can count on THIS as the OFFICIAL STATUS:

THE CONVERTIBLE IS STILL BEING TARGETED AS A 2011 MODEL

Wow Scotty...I thought Automotive News and Motor Trend were a little more cedible than the National Enquirer?

The "delay" is as a result of cash flow. Do you really think we will see the convertible in 2011? You have more faith in GM than I do.

I don't know....I read some pretty good stuff in the Enquirer!!!

The convertible was tabled, and shortly after the Chicago show, they said it was back in line to be a 2011.....and yes, I know anything GM is ALWAYS *Subject to change...but I did get an update minutes ago. So keep thinking POSITIVE!

... And keep bringing us information Seeing that 'vert' from last week makes me think more and more that that model isn't really that far away from becoming a reality. I'm almost willing to be it's more ready than most think. GM's gotta' play their cards just right so I think as long as they can turn around in a timely fashion, we'll see these cars follow not long after.

Things are only going to get more interesting

2011 model? So we'll see it in 2010 still? Lol. So confusing isn't it?

I guess we're going to have a super-long 2010 model year run. That makes me wonder how inflated 2010 sales are going to be seeing as how it's going to be almost two years, not just one. Regardless, hopefully we'll see at least one of these delayed models in the fall of '10 as 2011 models.

Lets see how the coupe sells after all of us enthusiasts have gotten ours, this will also help in determining when and if the vert comes tomarket. If the coupe flops it will have zero chance. This might indeed be the last hoorah for a V-8 Chevrolet pony car!

I HOPE not but know you're right. It seems like we're getting pretty favorable reviews so hopefully that remains the same and we get some good press. The fuel ecomony from the V6 helps but if we could get some good publicity, I have a feeling Camaro will sell itself.

It was after the Chicago Show that I was told the Convertible was back in business, targeted as a 2011.... I check again today (out of Camaro love...) and that is still the word I get.....Not sure who their "source" is...but until MY "source" says otherwise, I'm *alls to the walls, top down and wild in 2011" !

no matter what the gas prices are, a 4 cyl camaro is a bad idea. GM has already been through testing of a few different engines & they all came back with the same results - no economy gains over the V6 & ridiculously underpowered feel.

i'm willing to bet it's pretty close. why else would they openly display a test mule at the factory on production-start day? besides... drop tops rarely come out at the same time as the coupe.

it won't really be that much longer - about 3 months. regular 2010 cars should start production sometime in june/july.

That's what I meant to say, LOL. Thanks for articulating that for me

My point was the source scotty is referring to says 2011 model. Well 2011 models come out in 2010. So...a year and couple months from the coupe? Lol.

maybe this is a marketing strategy. letting out some info that might swing buyers to the coups instead of waiting for the vert or possibly the z28. Anything is possible....
