Service Stabilitrak after LTH Install?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Got the headers installed and took about a 12 mile joy ride with no issues or CEL whatsoever (though I know without tune it's coming).

Day later, took a drive out to eat and as I was pulling in to the parking lot I got the service stabilitrak message (though still drives fine - no limp). After eating, came out, light came back on, though went off about 1/4 the way home and came right back on 30 seconds later. Repeat twice more off on cycles, then stuck on for good it seems; with blinking CEL.

Did a quick search here and it looks like one other guy had this message and attributed the issue to a cracked spark plug during install. I'm not sure this is the same thing cause I think that would have came on during my joy ride.

Thoughts?

It could be the plugs. But the problem is actually your tune. I am guessing u have an m6? If so you are having a mis while starting to move and it will piss off ur stabilitrack. It happened on my gto after header install. It also happened with my sub par cam tune. I hope this helps, I doubt it's anything tho u won't notice it after ur tune.

I am having an issue with the stabilitrack too. I had my headers installed more than a month ago and no issues until now. I had the message pop up on my dash and Onstar told me it was a wheel speed sensor in the driver side rear wheel. So I put my stock tune back on and went to the dealer. They replaced the sensor and sent me on my way. Got my car back lasted 1 day before it was back on my dash, I have not yet checked my spark plugs or wires but now its off again and has been for 48 hours

Misfire at any cylinder will cause the stabilitrac message to activate.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I guess the consensus is something to do with the plugs after all. I'll check out all the wires and make sure they're snug. If that doesn't do the trick I'll have to start checking the physical plugs.

I dont think its the plugs. Your sig mentions ARH headers which means you probably disconnected the steering shaft shaft while installing the headers? If you did and managed to move the steering shaft or wheel a small amount the car will throw a code.

Yeah you're right, had to disconnect it. When attempting to reconnect after install it wasn't lining up enough so I threw the key in to unlock the steering wheel and get it back aligned.

I understand what you're saying may cause it to throw a code, but would it clear itself and come back on a couple times if that was the case? I'm also thinking it would have come on during my first joy ride right after install too, not just the day after. What do you think? If this is the stabilitrak code I'm seeing, would the code be different that what I'd see if it was a loose plug wire or damaged plug (almost certain it would have to be).

Did you reconnect the alternator? I missed it and got the same message as you.

Do a search a few people have had the same issue with the steering shaft. I don't recall how they resolved the code .. Sorry. Try reaching out to Nick from ARH he is on the board and good luck.

Just throwing this out there, because cut outs set this code and it appeared as "Service Stabilitrak".

Service Stability Message On, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C0131, C0196, C0290 and/or C0292 Set (Inspect/Replace Yaw Rate Sensor/Lateral Accelerometer and Reprogram Electronic Brake Control Module))

What set it off was resonance from the cutouts. Headers can produce this resonance as well. This resonance throws the yaw sensor into a fit and throws the service stabilitrak message. If you have access to a code reader you could check it out. The car did not get a CEL! Just the stabilitrak message. FWIW
