Said goodbye to an old friend
So I'll have to say so long to Camaro5 as I traded in my 5th gen yesterday to get a proper family hauler. I can honestly say this forum helped me tons in making decisions with my car over the years and was a wealth of information on everything with these cars. It was an honor, and I will be back one day
Here is my big fat lifted station wagon, I know she's not big red, but this car is excellent in all it's own ways for what we need now.

I was in the same boat many years ago when I had a beautiful 1963 Impala SS with the factory four speed and the beautiful 409 duel quad putting out 425HP from the factory. She left me shortly after the first child was born! Priorities in life change rather quickly. As the children and income grew I was once again back in the game. I can close my eyes and see every single car that I had, what memories.
Wishing you the very best and hurry back my friend.

Well...ive been there and done that.
But with my kids grown I didnt notice at the time how much money it cost to raise kidsat the time. If I did it again knowing what I know now. If the decision was ever to come up to sell the Camaro for something more practical.....I would find a way to keep it. Once its gone and with priorities..its hard to get it back. Good luck op ....maybe one day we will see you back. |

I left my Nova at the age of 18 to start my family.. 1st son born on my graduation day.. such a short time and experience building that car.
Fast forward almost 30 years later I got the car I originally dreamed of but a much newer model.. A 69 was always my dream but a test drive in a 2010 used low mile SS was a no brainer. Just imagine what you will be in the market for when the time is right to come back.. Best of luck with the new ride and raising the family... keep in touch!

how much cash back did you get from the dealer on the trade, lol..
I have a family also, that's why we have our Dodge Caravan, my Silverado, a Ford Fusion for the oldest daughter, Toyota Corolla for the middle daughter. The neighbors pick on me for having a drive way full of GM, FORD, FCA, TOYOTA.. But they all know, don't mess with Dad's Camaro

Sounds like I’m among friends here with, ahem, my elder members. I too had to wait to get the ‘Chevy SS’ I always wanted after the kids had gone. (along with their mother) And I’m starting to grunt and groan every time in get in and out of it. But I ain’t sellin’ er!
All the best.

I left for a couple years thinking I could get along just fine with the SUV life. I found out I couldn't stay away... went from a 2010 2SS to an 11 Grand Cherokee and then a 13 Wrangler 4dr and back to a 15 2SS. I have owned many cars in my life but my Camaro was my favorite and the one that I decided I couldn't live without.

Life Happens
I had to sell my beloved 78 Black t top Trans Am to my brother when the kids arrived. I got lucky as my brother bought it and sold it back to me last year. I missed her over that 20 years. Now I have my Camaro and my Trans Am. You did the right thing family first!!!
You will have another I am sure, the man upstairs takes care of those who take care of others |

You can still hang around, I am sure you have plenty of experience with your Camaro that you can help out other members. Just because you no longer own one I am sure you still are a 5th gen fan. I know I am and always will be..
Enjoy your new ride...
