Another Cam Bites the Dust!

Another one bites the dust. Not sure if it was the lifter first or cam. But luckily I caught it in time before it took out the whole engine. Putting new lifters and a Pat G Customer turbo cam made by Cam Motion!

Either way you will be happy. Not many guys here know pat. He's been around along time. Go to Texas mile this weekend and see his cars run. I've had his cams in my truck and my car.

Custom ordered 2012 6MT RS/SS on 11/25/2011. Picked up 01/31/12.
Pedders Coilovers, BMR trailing arms and toe-links, Prothane solid poly subframe bushings, JDP Motorsports rear upper control arm bushings, Texas Speed long-tube headers with 2" primaries, modified fully 3" Magnaflow competition catback. CAI cold-air intake. DBA rotors, Hawk pads.

It is a comp cam core. I had it installed just before there were several failures mentioned here. Though I was one of the lucky ones or at least hoping I was.

I've heard nothing but good things about him. He will be tuning my car once I get this cam situation lined out and get her back home to do my turbo install.

Got a buddy with a wiped out comp now. Was installed 3 years ago. Doesn't drive it much.

Yes lately. Cams were installed 2-3 years ago like others have stated.

Actually a lot of guys know Pat around here.

My question to the OP is did you change the lifters when you installed this cam? What kind of oil do you run?

Car only has 25k miles weekend car. I have about 17k miles on the cam. I runeed LS30 and change the oil about every 3k miles. Stock lifters.

Yes noticed a speaking noise which I thought may have been a possibly a pulley, but after further investigation and searching here and YouTube I had the hunch it was a lifter. Took it to the shop and I was right.
