Help please? 2010 Camaro SS cammed what oil do I use now
Hey guys I have a 2010 Camaro SS cammed and I was told to change my oil to 20w50 VR1 is that true or what can I use because it says 5w30 on my engine but they said since I'm cammed I need to use the 20w50 VR1 any suggestions?

i use 20w50 race oil in my 1969 camaro high horse power high compression i think it wont hurt to run it all that matters with a after market cam you need a lot of zinc in your oil.i always use royal purple Also 20w50 does not like the cold.

I've been running pennzoil ultra platinum 5w30 since doing my cam and all is fine

5w30 Mobil 1, no problems here.
High ZDDP isn't necessary for hydraulic roller cams

Ran VR1 20w50 in both my GTO's ('04 & '06). They did not explode. I think you'll be fine. My personal opinion is to use dino oil in cammed cars. Of course, I use dino in all my cars. But everyone has their opinions.

DO NOT PUT 20w50 in a LS motor not clearanced for it. you should be running Amsoil ZRod 10w30 or Driven LS30. unless your motor was built and the bearings were clearanced to run 20w50 DO NOT RUN IT.

I use rotella 5w40 synthetic change every 5k or little less no oil use or leaks car has 92k cammed at 82k tsp 235 239 cam dod vvt delete
