Getting very impatient in Hawaii

Does anyone on here have advice for me? I ordered my IOM 2SS/RS on Oct. 16,08. Recieved my welcome kiit at least back in Jan I think. As far as i know my event code is still 1100. My salesman has not responded to any of my emails. I don't really want to bug him in person. but They do have $1,000 of my money since mid Oct. Help!

I wouldn't care about bugging them. You are buying a car from them and they already have part of your money . So I would drop in and ask whats going on. But still they should respond to your email. I would be there first thing monday morning when they open.

Chevy has stated that allocation was through September 2009. This hasn't changed, so it would be realistic to think you will not get your car March 17th. But you WILL get your car before September 30th.

Most dealers will alert you when your car is accepted for production, and a targeted build date, and an estimated delivery date.

Some dealers aren't going to change the way they've done business for years because of a forum that has dealers that go a little beyond the call of duty.

By all means, go bug him IN PERSON, it's a lot more difficult to ignore someone when they are standing right in front of you.
And bring your sales guy a plate lunch when you go bug him, it'll help him remember you every time he hears the name Camaro..

Before I left Hawaii for the wilds of Florida, I seem to remember that most of the dealers on Oahu had somewhat small allocations.
So you may be in for a bit of a wait.
And don't forget to add the extra time it takes to get there on the boat.

By the way, don't suppose you know how they make the sauce for the spicy shrimp at Fumi's on the North Shore?
Went there every Sunday, and it has to be one of the top 5 things I miss about Hawaii...

*EDIT*

That's the god's honest truth right there, even more so for dealers in Hawaii.

Was told by one of the Jeep stealerships out there "That's just the way the car business in Hawaii is run" when I told them they where insane for asking $42k for a $29k Jeep in the name of the "Hawaii Dealer's Markup"

Heck, I'm still waiting and I've got the #1 spot at my dealership !!!! It doesn't help that we ordered Cyber Grey ..... but I still haven't heard a word ..... the sales manager did call a couple of weeks ago and tell me that he "thought" my order was going to be picked up the next day .... ummm right, even I knew better than that. Still haven't heard back from him.

In addition to all above just relax. Find hobby to keep busy. Try to get service manuals and read them etc.
