Question Trofeo tire wear and psi for road course

Guys,
See attached photos
I have 2 track days and about 900 miles total on these Trofeos.
How many track days should I expect?
Look at the little lip rise on the tread, is that ok?
How do I know when the tires are Done, and it's time to change?
I'm sort of new to the road tracking scene and love it, but still have a lot to learn. I am planning on tracking them again on 7/9 at Homestead, and I forgot to add I live in FL and it's summer time.
What tire pressure should I be during hot laps?
I get different opinions at the track and the owners manual says like 50psi for track day, lol
Any advice is appreciated!!

Another pic!
I would love to get a few more track days out of them
I'm adding the Wickerbill this week as well
Sorry the pics are upside down, not sure why this happens to me

Also, what other track tires are you guys using?
I've heard Nitto NT01 and Toyo R888 are good
Are they better than the Pirelli Trofeo R's?
I really only use the car for the track

On the Trofeos, w/negative camber maxed out, I find the optimal hot tire pressure to be 32 psi. 33 is tolerable, and once I get past that the tires start to feel a touch greasy at the limit. This has been verified at track events by a tire professional, measuring temps across the tread and correlating that to tire pressures.

Does that mean I need the GM track spec alignment or camber plates?

So I run 27 psi cold but I'm in Portland, OR and it may be colder here. I like to see 31 or 32 psi warm.

I'm going to run mine until the cord starts to show and then I'll do burnouts to failure.

My concern is coming into a corner, braking from 135mph, and having a blowout :0
Not cool!

Ok, I'm going to set my car up to the GM track spec sheet 100% and see how that works!

I start at 29psi cold. I then assess how car feels. Typically I'm walking the pressure down from there.

Looking at the pictures of your tires it looks like you are running either not enough air or your camber setting is really messed up. You are rolling way over the edge. There was a tire wear indicator on the tire. In the case of the Pirelli it is the letters TWI. It is my understanding you want to have the tread wear touch it, not completely obliterate it.
The ridges (lips) of rubber are just an effect of the tire wear under track use. Bridgestone had some engineers at my last HPDE at Watkins Glen. They recommended swapping the tires side to side, so they rotate in the opposite direction, to remove that ridge. Those ridges are mighty annoying when you're driving home. Bridgestone stated that the side to side swap is even ok on a directional tire. The directional setup on a tire is for wet use to properly channel water. It makes no difference in the dry.

I run 28 PSI cold when I track on the Trofeos. You do need more negative camber in the front, it'll help the car corner a little harder.

I've had very similar results (though I think it took a bit more) with the camber a bit more aggressive than the GM track prep settings. The settings I found worked best is -2.8 camber up front with about 6.6 degrees caster and zero toe, (and about -2 at the rear with zero toe). You'd need camber plates for these settings.

Every tire is a bit different, and in my opinion, Trofeo Rs definitely benefit from all the camber you can throw at them. I think NT01s can be OK with a bit less camber, but they would also benefit.

Bridgestone RE71Rs will be out in Z/28 size in August, and all performance Bridgestone tires have very stiff sidewalls. It will be interesting to see how they fare on Camaros.

BTW. I started my day at 30psi cold, and never got above 36-37psi hot

I'm definitely going to get the alignment done ASAP
Can I leave the alignment settings like the ones mentioned above all the time. I only use the car to drive back and forth to the track, and then for the track day, and an occasional spirited drive around town.
I don't really have the time in my life to be Changing alignments for different uses and want the best for track performance.
Also, I've heard of camber plates before, just don't really know what they are, and exactly what they do...besides help with track alignment. Is there any downside to adding these plates?
Thanks for all the advice
