Meeting at Dillards sounds like a better idea. Who all is going to be there tonight?

Welcome

Witchdoctor, welcome to Corpus. We do get together for some short cruises and dinner. Tomorrow most of the members will be at the AutoX. If you are free it is free to watch. Just head down Waldron Rd past the HEB and High School to Waldron Airfield. Glad to have you join us. Watch here and the other threads to see our next meet. Wont be too long.

Unfortunately I was elbow deep in Moving boxes and sweat. I am looking forward to running in the next AutoX at Waldron though. I have never done any kind of racing and am looking forward to seeing what the CRISSIS and I can do. BTW what all do I need to run. I assume helmet, but I am mostly unmodified (Short throw and Cold air only) do I need anything else?

SCCA Auto X

You'll be fine. Your helmet must be Snell approved. Where we run shorts are acceptable but you must wear closed toe shoes. I believe my wife said today all the camaro's were classed the same. If you have any mods at all (CAI,exhaust.etc) you are put in the street prepared. Not sure that the division of V6 or V8 was correct tho. We'll be checking so its fair. Please feel free to come out the Auto X or any other meet up we have. Here is the link for the local SCCA club. You can navigate around and find specs for helmets and info for joining if you desire (not required to run). Any questions please ask. I'll be home in two weeks so I look forward to meeting you.

Well I was number 2 out of the Camaros so V6 vs V8 wasn't that big of a deal. I really wanna get some better tires, VMAX ported throttle body, and better gears.

Careful with the tires and gears. Really sticky race only tires will put you in another class. I believe the gears will as well.

I was talking about getting tires like what come on the LT and up models or something similar that hold up a little better. Definately cant afford stickies. As far as gears go I have 2.91 right now (stupid chevy) and would like to go 3.45 or 3.73 but nobody makes a gear kit for them. I am thinking about swapping my rear end with an SS so I have LSD and can choose from more gears.
