Power steering pump ?

Working on engine bay clean up on an LFX and moved the PSF res off the motor and to the side.....Anyone know if the fitting on the pump can be oriented more vertical and not pointing to front of the car like factory position? or do I need to change the fitting?

Heres a pic...If I cant get anywhere with it it looks like I may have to have a -AN bung welded to accommodate the best position for the new location of the fluid reservoir ...

Ahhh.. ok after carefully looking it over I found it is fully removable and is not a fixed inlet .. down side is there are 2 screws holding it down and one is right behind the pulley.. grrr. I'll post pics so anyone in the future has reference. Looks like I will be able to go to -AN fitting after all like planned on this car.

I got the inlet out and note they are not fixed. They are removable.Ok here's a picture of the power steering pump inlet. For reference on the gen5's with power steering 2014. The inlet is removable. This one is from a 2014 LFX. We're relocating the fluid reservoir so the direction of the inlet needed to be changed.
This is good reference for people with LFX that need to move the ps reservoir for procharger or turbo install.

I would guess other pump inlets are very similar. FYI

Excuse my ignorance but I thought the SS Camaro as of 2013 had electric power steering. I would think the 1LE would also have the electric steering but this one doesn't. I don't mean to derail the OP's thread just would like to know how he got an old style hydraulic pump.

I'll clear your confusion...We have 2 Camaro's. Mine is the 2014 1LE (yes it has electric steer and engine bay clean up is already done) and my wife's is 2014 RS convertible with LFX( has power steering with pump and I am working on the engine bay clean up currently).

I put this post up so anyone that has question or needs reference on the inlet to the power steering pump. This is good info for anyone that may need or would like to relocate the power steering fluid reservoir.

LOL...I thought I stated that in the first sentence of the thread to avoid the confusion.. But I guess he didn't read.

I put a thread together in the v6 section on the start of it and the progress as I go on the engine bay clean up on the LFX... slowly getting there..lol.
