The problem for the West Coast is that the Central/Eastern parts of the country have most of the cars. It's no coincidence that the 2 of the 3 highest turnouts occurred in the Midwest. I'm not sure if Texas beat the 2nd year in Indy or not...

So 5 fests so far... did the one with the lowest turnout lose money?

whiner, got an issue with that statement try calling the tracks and getting prices for this type of event and you'll quickly stfu and let them do what they do best and regardless of where it is put on a great C5Fest. All i hear from the same people is omg what about the west what about the west then you'll post a track name. However you have zero motivation to even see how much this type of event would cost at said track and have an adequate surrounding area with hotels etc. I'm not saying west is a bad idea i'm saying be proactive and stop whining like a two year old and help your cause.

West was tried and the west coast bitched, moaned, complained and ultimately no showed the event. Provided the west coast attendance track record to every fest to date, I wouldn't hold your breath. Instead of pointing to some random map and complaining even more, offer up certified event locations that will exceed all event requirements after spending days (if not weeks) researching hotels and available tracks, negotiating fees and working with various chamber of commerce and the elected officials in these towns.
If you only knew 1/100th of the work that goes into these, my god. The fact these Fests exist at all is a miracle. I'll get you started, feel free to add your own and discuss; Here are your general guidelines; Track location must be reputable and sanctioned - 1/4 drag strip - location for autocross - possibly a road course - parking for 1,000 Camaros, including a sub section for car show - sections for 40+ vendors - room for the the general public - must be available for under $30,000 for a Thur-Sat for all events - must include general event liability insurance - must be available during July or August - Negotiate with chamber of commerce and mayor's office - must already have registered host hotels partnered for major events or if not available, host hotel must be located nearby to accommodate 500 rooms, off-duty police security and nearby overflow accommodations Colorado Bandimere Speedway 1/4 mi track Autocross location: No / Unknown Parking for 1,000 vehicles: No Parking for reserved car show, vendors and local guests: No High Plains Raceway Asphalt road course 1/4 mi track: None available Autocross location: None Parking for 1,000 vehicles: No Parking for reserved car show, vendors and local guests: No Western Colorado Dragway 1/4 mi track Autocross location: None Parking for 1,000 vehicles: No Parking for reserved car show, vendors and local guests: No Pueblo Motor Sports Park 1/4 mi track Autocross location: Possible 1/20th mi oval 2.2 Mi road course Parking for 1,000 vehicles: Yes Parking for reserved car show, vendors and local guests: Yes Track available Summer '16: Unknown Hotels available nearby: Unknown Wyoming: No tracks found Utah: Rocky Mountain Raceway 1/4 mi track Road Course Autocross Parking for 1,000 vehicles: Yes Parking for reserved car show, vendors and local guests: Yes Track available Summer '16: Unknown Hotels available nearby: Yes, registered, nice and cheap Nebraska: No tracks found Kansas: Heartland Park Topeka 1/4 mi track Road Course Autocross Parking for 1,000 vehicles: Yes Parking for reserved car show, vendors and local guests: Yes Track available Summer '16: Unknown Hotels available nearby: Yes, registered, nice and cheap Washington / Oregon / California: Did not look, will never be on a "coast". Vegas, Nevada: I have no interest in Vegas as a Fest event therefore did not look. Feel free to research if you feel differently. Good luck in your research and report back when you believe you found something you think is better than the six years already performed by GM and the Camaro5 circle. |

heh may have went a little off on that post but holy fbodfather all you hear every year is a group on the west whine about it not being on the west even when it was in phoenix they whined. I may not really have a great excuse i havent been to a fest yet am sure as hell making this years even if it's all the way across the country from me, but don't piss and moan in your cheerios over it being on another coast.
