I have a 2012 and my two key fob are both about shot. I know I can buy a new OEM fob but I'm wondering if there are any aftermarket fobs you can program with the stock alarm system? I really just want something smaller more than anything. Let me know if you have heard of such a thing.

I bought (2) from this guy on eBay and they work like a charm
You simply take a couple of pic's of your key and send the pic's to him, a few days later you get your new Key & FOB

It literally takes like 5 to 10 sec's to program the new FOB
Step 1, put original key&fob in ignition, turn to run position, DONT START
Step 2 wait for PATS light to go off, shut ignition
Step 3 put new key and fob in ignition, turn to run position, DONT START
wait for PATS light to go off, shut ignition
YOUR DONE......

$38.95
Worked like a charm for me on my 2012 ZL1 TWICE

I've got mine extra off ebay also and followed those steps. I think I have coded about 4 more fobs because the wife loses them.

Not to confuse you, but the other thing some do is buy a new FOB only, then they transfer their original key to new FOB (you still have to program new FOB)

"if" this video I found on You Tube starts at the right spot it shows you how to program the FOB (in this case the guy swapped his old key to new fob)
