10rscamaro build to supercharged

Hey everyone! This is going to be my build thread for the road of fixing issues with the rx supercharger. Pulled the trigger and purchased one used from a member. Thank you everyone that have been replying to my emails and all who I ask for help to get this project done.

Currently talking to a few shops on install rates, hptuning options, and planning a good time in the next month to get this kit put on the car. I will list my current mods below, as well as bring it to the track once it is running good. Im adding a few things to the car at the same time as the kit, so let the modding begin!

Current mods:
Vararam cai, obx lt's, mace intake manifold, rx iceolator, mace pletheum spacer, ported tb, trifecta tuned, mrt v2, 4.11 ss rear, ss brembo brakes.

Will be installing: rx supercharger, bmr drop springs, bmr sway bars, bmr trailing arms with bushing kits.

Thanks for your support guys!

If anyone has a good shop located in texas let me know! I am currently stationed in abilene tx, dyess afb.

Thanks!

Good luck on the build! I'm sure there are an absolute ton of shops in Texas that you can find!

What part of Texas are you in?

I suggest you take a good look at the tensioner bracket (well really everything since this is an RX kit), back when I had my V6 the bracket broke on me. Lucky for me I work for an engineering company with on staff metallurgical engineer's. We designed our own bracket. Last month I was approached by someone with an RX kit that had their bracket fail too, so this seems to be a reoccurring issue. The problem was early in the manufacturing process, the pieces were cut very crudely which lead to stress risers that ultimately lead to fatigue and then critical failure.

Here are some pictures of my bracket vs the RX bracket.

I also suggest changing all critical bolts to grade 8.

^This is why this site rules. Instead of bashing you for buying RX, members provide constructive advice.

Baylor, thanks for the heads up! Expect me to pm you once this install starts, im going to need all the help I can get.

Once the kit arrives I will know if it is an early production or the later.

Well I'm interested to see you get this kit worked out.

It seems most folks with the RX kit have had nothing but troubles.

How much do you plan on investing in this kit?

If you go over 5k I'd just stick to the battle tested IPF kit.

SUPER. I don't think you'll have any issues. The early kits had some problems but the bracelets have been upgraded. You should still be able to get RX to provide support. I tried to take a lot of pictures too. The shop that installed mine was a huge help.

I've been happy over all, though I had initially planned on IPF.
