New Member - need shopping advice
I am looking to pickup a Camaro in the next few months. I have owned a few Chevy's ( S10 Xtreme V6, Silverado w/ 5.3) and also a few BMWs (e30 convertible and e46 coupe). Hence the username...
I will be looking at 2010-2015 SS models in manual. What common problems/issues/factory flaws/maintenance neglect should I look for? I did a search on google and this site but couldn't find anything substantial. I appreciate your guidance in advance! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

You did not find much because there is not much. The 5th gen SS manuals are very trouble free, it's the l99 autos that can have problems
Only thing the SS manuals could go wrong is the presser release spring in the oil pump can stick if too much carbon builds up

clutches can be finicky at high horsepower. Stock there really isn't much commonly wrong with them. I have heard there is a blend door problem which can be a nightmare as you have to remove the dash to fix it. I don't switch from full cold to full hot, it actually just stays on cold since I don't drive it on cold days anyway. Just check maintenance records and inspect visually.

Oil pump failure is the main engine failure they have. Other than that some people have heater cores go out, the head unit for A/C radio, and the stupid blend door breaks

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
