I'm shopping for a 2011 2ss. Is preferred pricing good? I have usually have purchased cars by going to Edmunds etc. and getting the invoice price and waiting until I got the car for that. On the dealer print out the invoice (line 310) is higher than preferred, but higher than the invoice listed on edmunds. There are 2 group contribution fees added in for around $700. I don't think I should pay those. I basically want the car for the invoice price listed on Edmunds, which still leaves the dealer a fair profit margin with hold back etc. Any input would be appreciated.

the group contribution fees are part of the invoice price, that's their advertising contributions. That is not profit to the dealer in one bit.

If you can get prefered on a 2011, that is quite a good deal, as many dealers don't honor that pricing on Camaros.

Thanks. Maybe I'm being too greedy. I thought I heard that there was a 1,000 rebate if you financed through GMAC. Is that correct? I wasn't planning to finance, but if that were the case, I would do it.

preferred pricing is good.
I got preferred pricing (GM military discount) and USAA discount and ended up $1,000 under invoice for what you see in my sig.
