found some buff marks and paint haze
looks like my trunk deck had some touch up work done to it. the spoiler looks real bad with buff swirls and haze and to the right of the bowtie is about a 1 foot patch of the same :( i will try and get some pics up

look by where my hands are in the reflection and compare my right to my left hands. its tough to get a pic of it with cam fone and all the light angles but in person it is evident

That's why I don't get black!! It's the first color to go bad with swirl marks, etc! Sorry about your deal there!! I would take it back and demand a new trunk lid, and wing from the factory!!

take it back....did they prep it for you by polishing it with sand paper? I have black, and after two years mine does not look that bad.

I bought a Monte SS way back in 86. It was black and the drivers side quarter looked just like your trunk. I got permission from my dealer at the time to take it to a body shop of my choice for repair. Gave him the bill and he covered it. Owned that car for 16 years and the paint held up great.

they said they only washed it off that no buffer touched it. it either came from canada that way or im bein lied to but either way if they tell me they gotta repaint it im gonna tell em send new prepainted parts so i dont lose the car for a week already or if they gotta repaint they better put me in something of equal value and not some crappy malibu

Just brutal stuff you are finding on your new car. Tools and now this.
I can't see the factory using a buffing tool on the wing, and it definitely looks like that has been done....or they may have taken it through a car wash and the big wheel brushes did that (some dealers do have their own car was on prem.). If this was done at the factory or in QC hold, that part would have been replaced right there. Sorry to hear and hope you get some resolution with your dealer ASAP. |

I have a couple of blemishes on my trunk. I think it was from the snow in Canada from setting for so long and then it melting and running of the spoiler onto the trunk lid. My dealer did not even wash the car so I know they did not do it. I took it to them today and they said they will fix it.

my carbon fiber insert scoops have marks where the snow sat in them. water stains if you will.

It could be the result of the PDI detail at the dealer. Just take it back and have the spoiler cleared and polished! No biggie if the dealer has a good body shop. Small job for them! Not to brag... just want to give everyone who may have handled my car a big HANDSHAKE! Perfect everywhere! Not a blemish! OSHAWA ROCKS!
