The chevy brace works fine with the Magnuson.

M8 X 1.25 X 35mm (6): PN:11589407
GM MSRP $4.48
Torque to 18 ft/lbs or 216 in/lbs

I just went to local hardware store for about a 1/3 less.

strut brace mounting question..

Since i'am going to do sways i was considering a strut brace aswell. Can someone break it down for me. I posted pics to kinda of demonstrate what iam talking about.

I see how the BMR brace are bolted strait to the strut then i seen the oem 1LE brace and Hotchkis are bolted to what appears to be the car. Like the oem and Hotchkis brace how does that brace the strut if its not bolted to it.

A strut tower brace does not brace the strut itself but atcually braces the strut tower and helps keep the towers from flexxing in any way. The silver Camaro with the BMR strut tower brace is a 2010 or early 2011 Camaro and the green Camaro is a late 2011 and newer Camaro that actually has different style strut towers which is why the strut tower braces mount up so differently.

The STB016 doesn't have the clearance to be able to work with a Magnuson Supercharger but we are working on one that will.

The GM strut tower brace will not work on a 2010 or early 2011 without buying a pretty expensive mounting kit in addition to the strut tower brace itself.

1LE bar - yes with stock SS Hood.
ZL1 bar - no with stock SS Hood.
ZL1 is / has more bend height to clear the Supercharger and needs the ZL1 hood which has a taller center section.

My SS with 1LE bar.

I'm almost there. Saturday I de-greased the 1LE brace for my SS, then applied adhesion promoter. Sunday I painted it black, and today masked it for Camaro lettering. I used a laser engraver to cut the lettering:

Then painted the lettering the same silver that's on my engine cover, and finished with matte clear coat.

I'm going to let it cure for a few days before installing, as i still have to mount my catch can first.

Ordered the GM brace and had it painted white to match the car on my '12 2SS.
