The real limit is in the "Horsepower Thingy".....It takes alot of energy to break that barrier with the aerodynamics and, rolling resistance involved with the way the car stands stock/slightly modified.

I can believe where around 800hp would get you there.

There's a reason why the Bumblebee and, a B-52 Bomber attain flight....They overpower their surroundings.
There's a reason why neither can break Mach 1 though....safely.

It does sound like a good bench racing story though!
Yea exactly. He also told me he turned his front wheels inside out because there is more traction on the inside part. I didn't get to see because he said he purchased new tires cause they had wore down fast :what:

with just a tune no way.

somewhere around the ~675whp+ range it would be possible to hit that given enough strait away. anything less than that I think you would just need too many miles to do it. you need to have enough torque to pull 6th gear. lingenfelter and hennessy did it closed coarse.

the question becomes how much runway do you have. the more hp and torque you have the quicker you can get there and the easier it is to do in a normal situation.

I had my z06 between 185-190 on the speedo but is was pulling pretty slow at that point and you are covering tons of ground in hurry and was not comforatble continuing. car was stock

with this car is just ran it to the end fifth I am tuned, pullied, tb that about ~180 since my limiter is bumped. 6th gear at my toque level I did not think would be much of an option so I did not even try it. I was about at the end of my comfort level based on space I had at that point.

this car would do better with different gearing IMO to 200mph. you almost just need a mountain of torque to overcome that .64 gear. it pulls pretty well in the .8 5th but you run out of revs.

Not sure what tires he is using but I hope it wasnt the Supercars because they are directional, and that would not be good at all.

He's talking out of his ass! Ask to see the number on his DIC. That should shut the whole conversation down? The car is limited to 184 even though Canadian ZL1 refuses to accept it!

The ZL1 needs more than a tune to get up to the 200 magical number. Jessrayo had a picture.

He sounds like an idiot no offense. His remark of "turning the tire inside out" does absolutely nothing. The same as swapping your shoes on your feet!

190 stock z06 is FAST. Yea covering ground fast. I got a 2013 ls3 vette to 160 before I ran out of space, it's a scarry feeling when that comfort level of space is coming to an end.

Yea I should have asked to see the DIC but I wasn't even aware you can check the top speed.

I always tend to get a little shy when someone asks to see my DIC.

I would imagine a person would have to be a friends to ask l. Unless someone makes the 200mph claim and you wanna see proof
