New 2013 white convertible owner
Hello guys,
I will be getting my new Camaro vert in about 6 weeks and am excited about decking out my car with accessories and cool stuff. Some aftermarket stuff im considering will be: Interior dash LED'S neon light bar(s) tinting neon grill light carbon fiber hood decal side decals theft scanner wind restrictor blue transformer brake light lighted sill plates upgraded sound system subwoofer and (volume) amp cuz the stereos a little weak I don't actually own the car yet, so I might have a few questions. I would like to know what the clearance for the trunk to the safety net is, as I may buy a slim subwoofer box and have it installed and im considering what kind to get before I actually get the car. Its been a while since I got a new car, 2003 dodge stratus was my last |

I'm not sure you will be able to add a subwoofer to the car. The truck space is limited with the top down.
There is one in the back seat between the seats. Maybe it can be upgraded?

That's why I wanna know the clearance measurement. I could always stick a bass tube back there, that would fit. They don't hit like a box, but the response from the tube is pretty good. Subwoofers work better when they have an enclosure. Im pretty sure the one in the seat doesn't have an enclosure

Congrats on the new car! The dash lights didn't look good to me when I tried to pair them with the white trim - the trim is translucent and the lights caused the outline of the tape to show through. Don't know what you've got but something to consider. Also, I'm pretty sure a blue brake light isn't legal so you run liability risks if you get rear ended or pulled over

The JL Audio Stealthbox was my choice for my convertible. It fits seemlessly under the safety screen.
Its not the cheapest option, but I think it's the best.

Can you take it out easily to get to the items underneath?

Good question! I did see this option, but its also a $1000 option not including the subwoofer speakers, and/or wiring instillation, so I wanted to stay away from that and go with a cheaper option. My friend had a pair of 6 inch bass tubes back in the 90's and man did they pound! Its true you dont need big boxes or big 12 inch speakers to get big sound, if you do it correctly. Bigger most definitely does not always equal better
There is a home subwoofer product I own by a little known company you've probably never hear of, and it is BY FAR the best (home theater) subwoofer Ive ever heard in my life. Unfortunately, they do not make car audio. I was considering buying a smaller version 8 inch and putting it back there with a cigarette lighter converter for the house plug, thats how good it sounds. And is small enough to fit in the back |

Welcome! Congrats on your purchase, you will have a lot of fun times!
You might want to order an inside car cover, depending on how anal retentive you are about the car's interior. I have had too many verts whose interior has faded from the sun, so I won't leave my top down unless I have a cover for the interior. This is where I ordered mine, currently on backorder: http://www.carcoversdirect.com/interior-covers Sorry I don't have any audio upgrade info, can't hear as well so finer sounds are lost on my ears. The 2SS stock Boston Acoustics upgrade is more than I'll ever need. Enjoy & post pics when you take delivery! :-)

Congrats on your vert. It's a life changer. Gotta get a few external mods to break up the monotone.

Damn your 'vert looks nice (makes me consider to want to take the loss on my 2LT and go for a Spring Edition SS).

Congrats on your new vert
I put a 10 inch Kicker woofer with 500 watt amp in place of factory woofer.
I almost never listen to the radio, love to listen to the sweet sound of the 6.2L through the GM high performance mufflers. I started with a "plain wrapper" and had all the red added. I didn't like the orange. Topped off with some Foose Legend wheels and Nitto tires. |
