What do you use to dry your car?
Every time I wash my car I let it air dry because I don't want to scratch/swirl the paint, but I get kind of tired of looking at the hard water spots after it dries. With my truck it's no issue because it's silver and it doesn't show the water spots, but this CGM shows everything.
I need the experts advise- what do ya'll use to dry your car after you wash it? |

Well, Hemi, if you keep your car with a good wax on it, those water spots won't be as hard to remove from your paint. I know dark colors show everything so water spots are a bummer, especially after it rains and the sun decides to parade on out. Once the rain has stopped or the car is still wet after washing it, I hit the car with some Adams detail-spray and the water-spots come right off and leave a smooth clear finish. It also works on the windows too.
The thing is, while the car is wet Adams detail-spray destills the water and causes it to run right off the car or "chase", which is good, because it allows you to dry the car much faster. So usually what I do is dry section by section with detail spray, while the car is wet and just dry the car off. It works wonders. The thing is after washing the car, it's important to dry the car as quick as possible to prevent these hard water spots, and dry the car in the shade or garage. For drying and wiping the car down, I use Adams Microfiber towels, they're extra soft and wont scar your finish.

I finish the wash by running water over the entire Camaro to allow most of the water to sheet off. Next drive the Camaro into the garage and dry with microfiber towels. Complete with detailing spray and wipe dry.

I use Adams white waffle weaved drying towels for the outside of the car and I used regular microfiber drying towels you can get at any dept. store for the door insides, trunk, and under hood.

The best way to avoid water spots is to wash your car with SPOT LESS RINSE…. All the self car wash places in Florida have 2 ways to spray water on the car.. 1st is called high pressure water which will leave water spots on the car, the 2nd is called spot less rinse!!! I always wash my car with spot less rinse and then dry it off with a shimmy!!! You will not find any water spots on your car at all. After drying it up I use meguaires ultimate quick detailer!! I wash my car every weekend, I have owned my car for almost 6 months and no scratch/swirls…. hope this helps |
