CAMARO PERFORMERS 5TH GEN. CAMARO CHALLENGE CLASS
This class is new for 2010 and open to all 5th Gen. Camaro owners who want to race their modern hot rods at the LSX Shootout. With easy to follow, open index-style rules, the 5th Gen. Camaro Challenge welcomes new Camaros of all levels of performance to battle it out for the grand prize! All 5th Gen. Camaro Shootout class racers can have a free entry into Saturday’s LSX True Street class. CAMARO PERFORMERS 5TH GEN. CAMARO CHALLENGE PURSE: $1000 Win + Contingency + Jacket + Plaque + LSX Block From GM Performance Parts $500 Runner-Up + Plaque $250 Semis $100 Quarters CAMARO PERFORMERS 5TH GEN. CAMARO CHALLENGE RULES GENERAL OVERVIEW: This is an index style drag racing class designed to be an all inclusive class for 5th Gen. Camaro participants. Only 2010 and later Camaros powered by a GM LS or LLT (V-6) style power plant permitted. Each Camaro must have an LS or LLT (V-6)-based motor, OEM-style transmission, electronic fuel injection and be stock-appearing. Racing seats are permitted, and each car must comply with applicable NHRA and NMCA safety rules All races are on a .500 Pro Tree and in an index format. This will be an ALL RUN qualifying format. Vehicles are required to be stock appearing and stock bodied. All vehicles MUST pass NHRA safety inspection for ET and speed. A Sportsman ladder will determine running order based off Saturday evenings qualifying round, closest to index without exceeding. Vehicles must be driven to staging and to scales, can be towed after scales. Vehicles are required to run NMCA windshield banner and Sponsor decal on front windshield. Index classes are out lined as follows: AA/CAM 8.50 A/CAM 9.00 B/CAM 9.50 C/CAM 10.00 D/CAM 10.50 E/CAM 11.00 F/CAM 11.50 G/CAM 12.00 H/CAM 12.50 I/CAM 13.00 J/CAM 13.50 K/CAM 14.00 Delay boxes, cross-over boxes, or any “reaction-time related” electronic bracket racing aids prohibited in this class. Throttle stops and all related throttle-stop type accessories prohibited. Trans brakes permitted. NMCA REQUIRED DECALS: NMCA WINDSHIELD DECAL – must be installed on top of windshield. This NMCA decal must be the only decal on top of windshield. Other vehicle sponsor decals may be placed at base of windshield. NMCA SIDE DECAL- must be installed on side widow of vehicle. CLASS SPONSOR DECAL- GM Performance Parts decal must be installed on lower right side of front windshield. CONTINGENCY DECALS: Decals are required to appear only on the rear quarter windows or rear window in a clear and orderly fashion. Contingency decals may not be overlapped or modified CLASS DESIGNATIONS/INDEXES: Following the completion of Friday and Saturday’s Time Runs and True Street Eliminations, each 2010 Camaro Challenge driver will be required to select an Index and officially submit it to the LSX Event Coordinator prior to Saturday evenings qualifying session. There will be a single qualifier Saturday evening to establish a qualifying order. In eliminations on Sunday morning a 32 or less car field will be laddered on a sportsman ladder. A 33 or greater car field is randomly paired until the field reaches 32 cars or less. When the field reaches 32 cars or less a sportsman ladder for the number of cars remaining will be used to pair the cars. Car placement on the ladder will be determined based on closest to index (without breaking out) for the last round that was randomly paired. Each 5th Gen. Camaro Challenge competitor will have the option to run and compete in the LSX True Street Challenge category on Saturday at no additional charge. Just and update fellas, there are two new indexes to include 14.50 and 15.00 to accommodate the V6 Gen V Camaro in this class

I am eagerly waiting to participate in the event .Mine is brand new Camaro of 5th generation with engine capacity of GM LLT 3.6 L and transmission type of 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual.

If we are getting in for Sat AM, I understand I can still register for this and also hit the true street challenge; but under events it just shows heads up and LSX qualifiers...so which events on Saturday are the ones we can run to figure our index before the Sat night qualifier?

9:00am Bracket/LSX Index Time Trials: 9:15am Heads-Up & LSX Heads-Up Qualifying Rd. #2: 10:30am True Street Meeting: 11:00am True Street Cruise: Noon Exhibition: Noon Bracket/LSX Index Time Trials: 12:15pm True Street Eliminations: 1:30pm Exhibition: 3:00pm Car Show Awards Presentations: 3:05pm Burn-Out Contest: 3:15pm Heads-Up & LSX Heads-Up Qualifying Rd. #3 (inverted order): 3:30pm LSX Index Final Qualifying Round: 5:00pm Heads-Up Qualifying Rd. #3 (Continued): 5:30pm Secure Track: 6:00pm If you come in on Saturday you want to get there as early as possible see schedule for gate times. If you plan to run true street you need to have the car teched and ready to go before the 11am meeting for true street. I suggest you get to the track when the gates open. True street will be allowed a time trial with the Bracket/LSX time trials at 9:15. The final qualifing session for the LSX index classes is 5pm. In order to run with the true street class you must attend the meeting and participate in the cruise both are part of that competition.

Marine yes but you will have to pay to get in Friday and tech will not be open all day either. Jeff is at the track now and will not see this. Do you know what time you think you would get there? I can try and find out what time tech will close Friday for ya.
