The plan is to keep it in the March time frame (out of Winter, away from Summer) and away from C5 Fest time frame.

Keep the responses coming.

Thanks

Is C5Fest the reason we're keeping it out of winter, or is it because most people are usually busy during the winter?

Because let's not kid ourselves, if we manage to have this event on the weekend of a cold front, that would be effin' AWESOME. The cars would run better, the sun would be shining, and people would feel alive.

Agreed. Last time was way too cold. It had to be down to around 40 and windy come sundown lol. No thanks.

It was almost too cold to do proper keg stands. ALMOST

Pull your big boy panties up people

The year before was like a freaking sauna, sunny the whole damn time and close to or in the 90's. I'll take the cold anytime over the heat, must be the NY'er in me. P

2012:

2013 (ah, much better)):

^^^ Word.

I mean, a freeze would suck where the temp gets into the mid 40's in the morning, but usually by noon, it gets to 55-60 which isn't bad at all. I'd rather that than sweltering heat, which is usually how it is from mid March all the way to November.

Not really but you figure November and December are out for the reasons of the holiday season. January is out because people are recovering from the holidays. In February a large local show the Ecklers Winter Nationals take place in Orlando and myself and the club I belong to are the host club for this 3 day event.

The next best month is early March it's not too hot and normally not too cold. Unfortunately for us at SSCR1 it was too hot, and SSCR2 it was too cold, so maybe SSCR 3 will be just right.

If we move to mid- March to almost all of April we are into Spring Break with lots of kids and room rates are normally higher and rooms are limited.

May you have C5 Fest normally as well as the Big Fbody Gathering in Atlanta over memorial day weekend so that is out as I have been participating in the Gathering for 16 years.

Forget the summer June, July, or August it’s just too darn hot.

1st week of September is normally 2 shows over Labor Day weekend the High Octane show up in the panhandle and the Dream Cars weekend.

The only other good month is October to hold a show not to hot and not cold.

The rally is in 2015 and will almost certainly again be in early March as usual.
