I’m really showing ignorance here but what is a PD? I’m guessing a brand or type of supercharger, forgive my lack of insight.
Another concern I thought of is the potential for water ingestion with twin turbos mounted so low to the ground. Is this a valid concern? I want to be able to drive in the rain and not worry about pulling water into the intake. I drive it to work or wherever without ever checking the forecast. It doesn’t stay in the garage much. |

If you buy the cai kit with the agp kit, it relocates the filters higher, making it less of a concern. Even with their as is filters, you'd have to drive through about a foot of water to even think you'd pick water up

Twins for the win...
PD is positive displacement, (top mount blowers driven by a belt) ProCharger, Paxton, Novi and the like are essentially belt driven turbos... with the associated 50ish percent parasitic loss... I’ve always had bottom mounts and never an issue with water ingestion though I never drove into standing water...

I have a Twin Turbo 2010 Limited Edition Camaro and though a V6 and not a V8, I wanted to share my experience. I installed "rear mount" Borg Warner EFR Turbochargers back in 2011 and I have never had any issues whatsoever since. I love the power and still retains mileage. V8 power in a small package. Wouldn't go back to NA if you paid me.

I'm just starting my twin build. Got my twin Huron 62's and trying to get all the supporting mods, which are many. Camming mine as well and doing the top end. Played with blowers for years, so this is my first time in turbos. Friend and I just put a single in his 69 camaro and its amazing. Would do turbos and never look back!

I love the way LSA swap's drive in day to day traffic, but it doesn't hold a candle to my twin turbo setup, especially on the big end at a drag strip or on a freeway roll. More maintenance on the twin turbo setup for sure, but if you want 4 digit power it's the way to go.

No regrets. But my twin turbo build was the most complicated between my 4 setups. Lsa blower, heartbeat, heartbeat with nitrous, and twins.

For those of you with a twin set up, Scuzz and Turbo2010, what makes the turbo setup so difficult and what maintenance issues make them more of a pain than other FI systems. Thanks for your replies.

Install was more challenging, mine required custom fabrication and welding to get the turbos to fit with our other components and location we wanted them. We had to install other things that I didnt need on my other applications. Boost controllers, scavenger pumps, meth systems, etc.
I wouldnt say maintenance is more difficult. But because of more components, you have more things you need to check for failures and issues.

Scuzz is a little different since he went the big boy route - LSX427 with 65/65's.
The TT base kits that Huron and AGP sell are pretty much no-fab installs. Really no more maintenance than non-FI car other than checking the air inlet filters from time to time, and if used, replace the scavenger pump oil filter when changing oil.
