Big deal, an engine blew, omg, I have had $ 55,000. Cadillacs with a blown engine, got a new engine and drove on. I think you need to recognize, stuff just happens with mechanical parts, doesn't make the brand bad or the car bad and it certainly is not a safety concern, it was an engine, not the brakes !

A blown engine and you drive a V6? How could one man be on the receiving end of two most incredible misfortunes? Welcome to the C5 forum, where you're worthless and weak. Now, drop down and give 'em 20.

Lots of fan boi crap on here, very unfortunate.
If I blew an engine on a car with 17K on it, I'd be pissed, too. Sounds like the car is a lemon, and I don't blame the OP for not wanting to drive it again. I am not a badge lover, I am a car lover. Lighten up, folks.

So a blown engine makes the car a lemon even though it was a part inside the engine that went bad and caused this? Glad you're the expert on this.

To the OP, you mention that you buy new cars every four years in hopes of avoiding any major mechanical issues. I don't know your history, but I can only assume that you've had success with this practice. It's easy to assume you've never experienced something like this before because of your stated reaction to what happened. Yes, traveling at a high rate of speed and the car suddenly stops responding is very dangerous, yet when you imply that you were "almost killed", most people will assume you were involved in an accident due to the failure of the car. Yet you and the driver were uninjured(fortunately). Hence all the statements from other forum members about the over reaction.
C'MON MAN! what did you expect? at least you don't have a mustang and you're not on a mustang forum and you recited that scenario and Rocky74 got it right
