Question SLP TVS 2300

So i got the cash in hand to buy the old style slp tvs 2300 for a pretty good deal. I called a the shop where i got my car tuned at on how much he would charge me to install it and re tune it. He told me 1600 for the install and 500 for the re-tune, im not genious but is this about right? Iv been reading that the new style slp superchargers are pretty easy to install rather than the older models which i might consider buying if the install is going to cost that much. If you anybody knows a shop around the SAN ANTONIO or CORPUS CHRISTI area that offers better deals, please let me know. I read the install instructions for the old style SLP and i am man enough to say i dont want to take a chance ha ha.

Don't buy the old - don't be penny wise/dollar foolish.....there are many reason(s) for the upgraded SC!

I installed my own so I can't speak on how much it usually costs for an install. It only took me and a friend about 6-8 hours for the install. The worst part was pinning the crank. Everything else bolts right on!

I was quoted $350 for a tune in my area (lingenfelter)

New SLP SC install is easy peasy. Two piece mani & blower makes it a one man job.

What is envolved in pinning the crank??? Do you have to do it with newer S/C.

1600+500 for install and tune is way over priced. I would keep calling around. As for pinning the crank it's easy. It comes with a drill guide and bits. Was the easiest part. They talk about crazy torque specs, I just got it as tight as I could none of the crazy stuff. Done it twice first with an under drive pulley with no problems.

What's with the $500 re-tune?

The kit comes with the SCT and the tvs2300 tune on it. Took me 10 minutes to flash the new tune. The kit has absolutely everything you need.

There are some vendors offering the kit for $6000 installed and tuned, look around.
