Best Z28 Model Year?

Okay, I'm fifteen. I absolutely love Camaro's and i want one for my first car, i have looked at many different model years of the Z28 and i can't figure out which model year is best. I really like the design of the Camaro overall but i dont like how in the late 90's the grill on the bottom front got bigger, i liked the sleeker smaller grill. So out of all the years in the 90's which Z28 is the most reliable and more importantly which accelerates faster and which has the highest top speed? If i were to get a Z28, it would obviously have to be a stick shift, so factor that in. Thanks for the help

1969 obviously but thats not going to be your first car if it matching #s. but in 4th gen 2001-2002 probably are fastest. Check the 4th gen section for better help

Fourth Gen for sure. I recommend a 2001 or 2002. Those were LS-1 years and they had all the kinks worked out of them. The interiors are pretty nice. You can also find them for very reasonable prices.

I have owned two Z-28's. One 1992 and the other a 2002. The 2002 was worlds better than the 92. They aren't even comparable. The 2002 rides very nice, the controls and all the electrical stuff works great, the transmission is very tough and reliable and not too bad to shift. The interior is also pretty nice.

Additionally, any LS-1 4th gen in decent shape will keep up with the current camaro SS. For example, mine is bone stock and i raced my dad in his 2010 SS and i beat him 5 out of 6 races.

On an unrelated note. I am currently selling my 2002 Camaro z-28, manual, t-tops. PM me if you are interested. Pic below.

Seriously though, even if i wasn't selling my 4th gen, i would reccomend the 4th gen over any other Z-28 currently available. If you really dont want a 4th gen, despite their technological and practical superiority, you can PM me any questions you have about the 3rd gen too because i have plenty of experience with those also.

you're 15 and want the fastest 4th gen? wow. ok. wow. I'm sorry I don't think you should have it as your first car. these cars are no joke. but with that said I don't know how you were brought up, and don't know how responsible you really are.

so to answer your question the fastest 4th gens would be the 01-02 models. but the lightest 4th gen is the 93. for reliability I'd stick with 98-02 models that haven't been modified. but like you said you don't like the looks. so if I have to stick with a 4th gen and didn't like the looks/performance of the 98-02's I'd go with a 93. lightest. . .

, ive been around cars since i was very young, i have been taught how to act responsible and not to mess around while on the road, cars are a privilege to be able to drive, not a right.

It would be after 97. 98's had the bass mouth grill. I never liked it either.
I would try and get a 97 Z28 with 30th Anniversary package. It is white with Hugger Orange stripes.

Problem with that is the LT-1. This motor was less powerful than the LS1 and a heck of a lot less reliable.
