Water pump replacement

So just took my new ride (2010 2SS) in for an oil change. My water pump has a knock in it and is supposedly on its way out. What would be a reasonable price to pay to have that replaced? And should I just replace with a standard one or is there a better one I should install?

Your first water pump lasted 10 years. It is a wearable part. Replace it with OE.

It's very very simple to do yourself. It took me maybe an hour in the garage, its just a little messy with dumping the coolant. Youtube video tutorial for the win!

+1. It is a very easy job. Grab a new one from the dealer and toss it in. If they try charging you an arm and a leg I think we can get one for $250 shipped. Watch out for knock offs online

It is a real simple DIY job. Go OEM and change the T stat and flush the system ,use Dexcool and distilled water. Check hoses and belts and replace as needed.

I love RockAuto. Not only do they have great prices but the entire site can be used as an amazing cross reference tool for part numbers.
