Same issue, rear end darty!
I put Z/28 wheels and tires and it handled amazing!!!
I went to a two day autocross event.
Then it started this.
I put on the lift and found a loose toe end bolt.
I had alignment re-done. Tightened all bolts.
The car got better, but no where near as sweet as it was before, it was amazing???

I would say with the age of your Camaro the rear strut/struts may need replaced; and or you may want to look at the rear trailing arms and toes and the upper a arm bushing. I replaced all these with BMR products , and also recommend the LPW cover for the rear.

Inherent problem for the Camaro is wheel hop, trailing arms and toes help that, with less deflection also being able to be altered with a good delrin bushing for the upper a arm.

You need to get it up on the rack and have the suspension checked out, I can tell a 500% difference in my Camaro with the suspension mods I did, and have stock fe4 for sways I will change someday for more anti roll but not being a circle tracker trailing arms and toes are much more important IMO. Good Luck.

This does make sense. I was thinking the same thing.

I was thinking of this, but I only have this problem during WOT and not just once I pass a certain speed (i.e., 70 mph).

I'm going to take a look under the car sometime this week once it warms up.

I'll recheck:

All bolts
All bushings
Sway bar bushings & endlinks
Coilovers

Feel free to add to the list.

The clutch packs in your rear end may be starting to fail, and under full throttle, they are not applying power evenly from side to side.

4 years is a long time for a coilover, do they do rebuilds?

This is scary. Any way to troubleshoot this?

I'll have to contact Pete regarding that question.

Something is loose, worn or broken. We have to find it. The best way is to examine each piece. We are looking for a worn or torn bushing or a loose bolt. I have seen OE differential bushings literally destroyed, but my first guess would be worn toe link bushings allowing too much toe change under load. A loose toe adjustment eccentric would cause similar behavior.

There are monoballs for the rear control arms in the rear knuckles. I have seen those go bad, but only on cars that were road coursed hard.

Let's start with the toe links.

Mark the toe eccentric so you can put it back where it was and remove the arm to inspect the bushings.

They are rebuildable, but my guess is it isn't the coilover it is a worn, loose or broken part. We need to do a complete detailed inspection to find the cause.

Thank you for the tip! I'll make sure to mark the toe eccentric.

Regarding bushings, I haven't seen any "nipples" to insert grease like my other cars, or have I not looked hard enough?
