P0556

2010 Camaro SS. 107,000 miles. Full exhaust (longitude headers all the way back to the tips). ADM Race Intake. Coilovers. Sway bars.

My car is been giving my P0556, which points to the brake booster sensor. I've read previous posts regarding this code and it looks like it's usually because of a supercharger. However, I'm NA. Is it truly the sensor, or do I have oil sitting in my intake manifold?

I'd appreciate any insight!

I had this issue last year. It was not the sensor, it was the booster hose that runs to the back of the intake. The hose was very soft from the heat and was leaking on the intake side.

I wound up buying a used sensor and hose as it was easier for me to find. I replaced the hose but just kept the sensor in my glove box in case that ever does fail.

I'll take a look at the hose tomorrow to see if that's the issue. The code clears itself every now and then. On and off again.

Note: I have no catch can. I noticed that was an issue with someone else's code.

Yea mine would do the same thing but after a while it stayed on all the time. It can be a real pain to get to the spring clamp on the intake end of the hose unless you have small hands, but it is doable. It is directly behind the oil pressure sensor, so be careful. Not much light back there either. Once you mess around with it for a few minutes you will figure out a plan.

I used a pair of small vice grips/pliers to lock the clamp down so I could slide the hose off. The other end should slide right off the brake booster sensor without issue.
