My zl1 keeps loosing boost because knock sensor even after replacing it

so pretty much, i was getting a code for knock sensor and everytime i push the car to the limit the engine light comes on and i loose a lot of boost of the supercharger the code for knock sensor comes up but after the car been stopped for a few hours it goes away so i decided to replaced it but still everytime i drive using the full power of the car after few minutes it comes back again. i dont know what to do its so annoying when the power is reduced. what should i do?

p.s a performance mechanic changed it for me.

If it's loose (as you wrote a couple of times), tighten it.

(A knowledgeable person will hopefully be along shortly to provide a substantive response)

Any chance you have some air in your SC cooling system?

flashing check engine light is a misfire, you didn't really say what you got as far as the light, just the knock sensor. Too, like above, what octane are you running.

We need more info...

1. Please list all performance mods
2. What is the mileage on the car?
3. How old are your spark plugs?
4. Do you run a catch can?
5. What fuel do you use?
6. What are the ambient temps when this happens?
7. What are your cooling temps when this happens?
8. Have you ever "burped" your SC cooling system?
9. Any changes made before this started happening?

Wait back up please. Anyone offering advice in this thread not related to his initial problem is not reading properly.

What are the DTC codes the engine is throwing for the knock sensor. There are 2 sensors , and need the codes it’s throwing.

If you replaced the knock sensor and it’s still throwing knock sensor codes it could be the wiring for the sensor, it’s right near the exhaust.

Also any codes for a knock sensor put your car into the low octane table which is why you have no power.

We need the codes it’s throwing to help you.

Has nothing to do with air in your SC loop, that’s a completely different issue.

had this problem with my 06 GTO. I purchased it used with headers, and they didnt route the knock sensor wires away from the primaries. So after I couldnt get the code to go away knowing the car wasnt knocking) I ordered a pair of sensors. I found when I was replacing them that the wires were burned through.

P0325 is the knock sensor on drivers side on the block. Due north of oil filter.

It’s either going to be the sensor or wires.

You need to unbolt the heat shield, 1 bolt then unbolt the knock sensor.

You sure you replaced the correct one ?
