Great data. Looks like prices are pretty much just based on supply and demand, tbh. I think sometimes refineries have gone down to weather, which causes spikes, but for the most part it’s as I said.

Then with all the Cargo setting out in the ocean with no way to unload all the shit and no truck drivers to bring it to the places its supposed to be delivered to its going to get worse since no one wants to work. Well I'm 70 so this old f-ck is done so get out and get a job if you don't have one since there are 11 million jobs that need to be filled, maybe drive a truck to get fuel to the places that need them.
Spot on. The cost of gas in the present is often based on assumptions made about demand in the past. If those aren’t aligned, you may end up with big increases or decreases, like what we’ve seen the last year.

About 3.71 to 3.91 to get a gallon of premium.

When I daily drove my '70 hotrod with the 462, I learned to regard gas as just the cost of doing business.

Problem is America doesn't control any of it. It's easy for OPEC to increase supply to meet demand.

I just went on a "short trip" and for the first time ever the pump shut off before I was full!!!

Put in 28 gallons and hit $100, the pump shut off. My truck has a 33 gallon tank. It does get 630ish range but DAMN! WTF! WHY!

Actually, we do. The whole shale oil thing broke the back of OPEC last time. Right now, there so many uncertainties that the US oil industry isn't investing or pumping oil.

There was a period a few years back where we were the world's largest oil producer.

America was the largest producer of oil and controlled the market price of oil only a year ago. Something changed and we no longer were the largest producer. It was almost over night and appeared to be on purpose. Why wouldn't someone want America to be energy independent?

Know the feeling. My 4wd Suburban has a 40 gallon tank and i always keep it above three quarters. Just dropped in a new Edelbrock 1406 and have been tuning for max economy. Just a hair short of 14mpg currently.

I've been reading about an impending gas price crash. It can't come too soon, me not like these $4+ per gallon price tags

Current admin releasing oil reserves, and omicron could alleviate high prices. Hard to see the future is, however.
