Factory V8 powered Chevrolet Colorado... Almost!

I've said time and time again that if GM were to put the same LT1 V8 from my Camaro into the Colorado I would be extremely tempted to sell my current Colorado and Camaro for that thing. I know it wouldn't be a sports car handler like my Camaro but I don't think I could resist it. It would be amazing.

Well, they almost did.

The video below is in Australia spec but another article I read claimed they were targeting an MSRP of mid $50,000 range and 0 to 60 times was under 5 seconds. There was to be an Australian spec road truck and for the US market there was going to be a V8 powered ZR2. I would have wanted the road oriented truck more but it is what it is.

Very cool.

There is no doubt the Ford Ranger Raptor would have never stood a chance against the V8 HSV Sports Cab. The difference is, Ford built the Raptor and the HSV Sports Cab V8 never made it to showrooms.

Speaking of the Ranger, released. See the bumper step? Also appearing on the Santa Cruz now. I actually love the steps on GM trucks, ingenious but so simple.

Hoping we get the multi function tailgate on the next gen twins. And of course a V8, duh, but being realistic here.
