Jannetty rough idle road race cam

Seeking feedback from ZL1 owners re: Jannetty road race cam:

1. RWHP figures
2. Drag strip performance 1/4 mile
3. What brand valve springs used
4. What brand valves used
5. What brand & length push rods used
6. Cylinder head type & modifications/porting
7. Upper pulley size
8. Lower pulley size
9. Blower stock or ported snout
10. Brand of rocker arms for LSA engine using Jannetty road race cam

I am contemplating making some changes to my current set-up and would
appreciate hearing about other options that are proven performers and durable
on the street and occasional drag strip

Thanks for your suggestions/feedback

With secret cam specs your questions are unanswerable.

How about the people who are actually using the Jannetty rough idle
road race cam in their ZL1's now ?

Can you please share your exact set-up/mods that you are running in
conjunction with the road race cam ?
And also your performance figures and satisfaction with this camshaft ?

Is Jannetty the only shop in the USA that has and installs this cam ?

Don't the people running this rough idle/road race cam know who ground
it and what the cam specs are

Good morning,

I am happy to answer any of your questions.

We developed this cam to put up with the grueling demands of road racing constant high rpm.

This cam has been a proven performer and makes impressive power numbers at reletively low boost 11.5 psi.

On pump 93 with supporting mods puts down 651 RWHP consistently and on a tank of 93 with a 32 oz can of Torco and tuning puts down 682 RWHP.

All components are matched Compcams and GM.

You can read about this package here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...D+RACE+SPECIAL

Thank you for your interest in JRE performance packages.

Ted.

Good morning Ted:

I am respectfully seeking honest, unbiased, real world feedback from
10-15 of your customers who have installed the rough idle roadrace cam package in their ZL1 Camaros.

Some customers may be completely satisfied, while others may be dis-satisfied with the actual performance, durability of this camshaft and associated valve train components.

In order for me to better evaluate this roadrace camshaft I want to hear from and read the testimonials from your customers who have purchased this product from you.

Surely there must be 10 - 15 customers who can tell/show me:

1. How much rwhp/rwtq they have with the roadrace cam ?
2. What E.T. did they turn in the 1/4 mile at a dragstrip ? (timeslip) (youtube)
3. What type of upper and lower pulley combo do they use ?
4. What type of valve train components do they use with this cam ?
5. Who did their tune up ? What is the best tune up ?
6. What are the actual cam specs of this roadrace cam ?
7. Who makes/grinds this camshaft ?
8. How durable is the camshaft ?
9. Were there any problems or issues after installing this camshaft ?
10. Were the problems corrected by JRE with no hassles ?
11. Were there any regrets over choosing this roadrace cam ?
12. Is it basically a "good sound" but non-performing cam in 1/4 mile ?

My goals objectives are:

1. 650-700 rwhp from bolt on components
2. use stock valve train parts where possible to save money
3. durability/reliability, not over-stress the engine components
4. rough idle/chop (cam sound)
5. E.T. in 1/4 mile at dragstrip at least 11.00 6 speed manual ZL1
6. Throws me back in the seat when I stand on it merging onto interstate
7. No head porting or blower porting
8. No custom throttle body
9. Excellent customer service/response from JRE
10. No regrets over choosing JRE and roadrace cam package

Thanks

The way Ted describes it I think his cam may be very similar to the BTR stage 3 cam.

My cam is much smaller than the BTR stage 3.

Mine is 216 246 on a 114.5

BTR is 231 248 not sure on the Lobe sep.

I think the LSA is 120 on the stage 3. most of his cams have reduced lift in relation to some of the grinds out there and more LSA.

I also offer a smoother idle version that is 223/239 119

Both cams are under 600 lift.

Brian Tooley Racing PDS Stage III Camshaft specs are:

Cam specs are 231/248 .617"/.595" 120+5

Is anybody running this cam in a 2013 ZL1 Camaro ?
If so what type of E.T. are you turning ?
What other mods do you have with this cam setup ?
What type of rwhp/rwtq are you producing
How satisfied are you with BTR stage III for LSA supercharged engine ?

Thanks

In about a month I am putting a BTR package in a car I will update you if I don't get banned before then for answering with someone else's product. I have used the BTR cams in a few other applications and had great results.

So essentially the same duration as a LPE GT9 cam but with more overlap which will make it lope more at idle and produce more torque in the mid-range. And will lose a little torque in the high RPM. But the gain in mid-range will more than the loss at high end. And lower lift lobes than the GT9 so it is easier on the valvetrain.

The purpose of my starting this thread was to:

1. Reach out to a specific group of ZL1 owners/users of a cam pkge.
2. Obtain honest, unbiased feedback (pro or con) re: a product/service
3. Obtain comments/suggestions from all ZL1 owners re: the best
camshafts out in the market place that will meet my specific goals
and objectives as I listed.

That is 1 of the purposes of joining Camaro5 forum, to have access to a
large number of fellow ZL1 owners who can provided insight, honest
feedback about a product, service, vendor in order to better evaluate
that product or service prior to putting your money down.

Speed equipment vendors, Mod shops, Tuners must compete for our business by delivering high quality high performance products/services
and follow-up customer service to correct problems/issues after the
sale.

Nobody is bashing or trashing any vendor or product if that product or
service is high quality, performs as advertised, meets our goals.

We have a right to express our truthful experiences pro or con without being banned or accused of spiteful unjustified "bashing/trashing"
