Parts had already received a $90 roll of official GM duct tape to repair. The car will not be released to the customer without the fix.

Didn't hear a word about any $100 credit towards anything though.
It's a credit issued directly from GM for those who already have delivered cars and have to bring them back. The correspondence is between buyer and GM directly about the $100.

RECALL

GM Recalls 300 New Camaros Due To Cable Problem

POSTED: Wednesday, May 6, 2009
UPDATED: 11:31 am CDT May 6, 2009

DETROIT -- General Motors Corp. says it is recalling about 300 new Chevrolet Camaros because a battery cable could rub against the starter motor, wearing the insulation and potentially causing the car to stop running or fail to start.

The voluntary recall applies only to Camaros with V-8 engines. The company says in extreme cases the cable problem could cause a fire, but no fires have been reported.

GM spokesman Dan Flores says the company has made about 1,400 of the V-8 equipped 2010 Camaros and 300 have been sold. The unsold models will be fixed before they are delivered to customers.

Flores says GM will tow the cars to dealers and offer free loaner vehicles and oil changes.

NO... the Recall, and the ONLY recall so far is due to the battery lead cable.

Yes this is a V8 ONLY recall i believe because of how they worked the cabling in the engine bay.

What's the status of the Battery Cable Recall??

My dealer told me yesterday that my son's 2SS is part of that recall. They will apply the fix upon it's arrival.

Glad GM/Chevy are being pro-active instead of delivering the cars with this fault? My son has a 1200 trip back to Colorado Springs as soon as he picks his up. Wouldn't want him stranded in the middle of Kansas.

I talked to a salesperson yesterday; he told me he believed it affected only about 300 cars.

A person working at the dealer just took delivery of her SS, and they fixed the recall, which was quick and easy.

I am heading over the dealer this morning to get the recall done. Does not sound like a big deal at all.

And isn't that recall for only about 300 cars? Mine was built last week. Hope it is okay! Thanks for the info.
