NH-SS brass vs Hurst updated bushing.

NH-SS brass vs Hurst updated bushing.
I have the brass bushing from NH-SS and have not installed
It yet. Hurst is sending me a couple of there new updated nylon
Bushing with o-rings. I only want to do this once.
Pro and cons please.

I have the NH-SS brass bushing and it really made a big difference! Nice crisp shifts with nearly zero slop! The only drawback is increased buzzing and vibration during hard acceleration. I can't compare it to the Hurst bushings though so it's your call. Hopefully someone can chime in here that has installed them. The only thing that would worry me about the Hurst fix is that they are still NYLON! When I removed the original Hurst nylons they were toast! Hopefully the new nylon bushings are more durable! Good luck!

Maybe I should buy the MGW and be done with it. Hate to spend more cash.

Did you use the vibration tape on install. May help ?

I used the vibration pads on the upper shaft where the 2 bolt together. I didn't use the tape that they suggest on the lower linkage part because I didn't want it interfering with shift action. If you are in the market for a new shifter and haven't bought the Hurst yet save up for the MGW!

edit: I just noticed in you first post that you already have the Hurst. The MGW is a better set-up but it's pricy and you'd have to sell the Hurst!

If it were me, I would go with the brass bushing. If you only want to do it once, use the one you KNOW will fix the problem, not the one you hope and think might fix the problem.

Forget about nylon bushings from Hurst

Install the NH-SS improved bushing
Making sure yo burnish it

If you dont like it then move off to the MGW

Jus-saying the NH-SS bushings does make that much of an improvement

I have 5k miles on mine Hurst with NH-SS bushing still tight no slop

where did you purchase the brass bushing from? I have the hurst and did not want to bother with the updated Hurst bushing because I knew it was still nylon.
