Which Axle Back Exhaust?

Trying to decide which exhaust to get. I want an axle back exhaust that is loud, but not obnoxious, with little drone. A good part of my drive is at 60 MPH at 2000 RPM, so I want to be able to have a normal conversation.

I thought I had it picked out with the SLP Loudmouth II, but then listened to more clips and it sounded odd to me...a little like a ricer at high revs. Then thought I might go with the DynoMax VT, no drone, sounds good, but the website says not for a convertible. I am going to call them tomorrow to find out for sure why.

Originally thought the MRT 2.0, but worried about drone.

Should I add an X pipe to whatever I choose? If so, which one?

The Corsa isn't loud enough, and I don't think the Borla is either. Am I missing one? If I don't pick what you recommend, let me know what you used and why you like it. If you have one of these and fixed drone, let me know how you did it.

I've listened to so many sound bites, they run together and it is so subjective to the sound clip and background noise, etc, it is hard to get a good read on them.

Please no, I should have gotten a V8 or the like...real world experience please.

A friend of mine has the MRT 2.0, but I have never ridden with him. LOL And he is in Kansas until January. Which ones are you leaning towards?

The MRT 2.0 and the Loudmouth. The Borla is a little $ and I didnt like the sound. The last thing I want to sound like is a tuner with a beehive exhaust.

The Borla is not quite as loud as the MRT v2 but you will definitely hear it. I wouldn't describe it as quiet. The MagnaFlow resonated x-pipe seems to take care of the cruising drone. It has become a very popular package.

Chase, I would like a throaty rumble at idle, no drone at cruising speed. Any suggestions?

Either of those two, the Borla or MRT v2 with Magnaflow resonated x-pipe, would be good options. Keep in mind, you are only going to get so deep and throaty with a 3.6l engine versus a V8.

I had the Loudmouth on mine when I first got it. I have the SLP ZL427 package on my 2011 Camaro SS. I ended up selling the Loudmouth because I put some other mods on and didn't need it. I sold it to a guy on here and he said he loved it. I liked the sound of it but wanted something louder. I go to a lot of car shows and I have heard all the ones your talking about and I personally like the Loudmouth the best. Good luck buddy!!!

Yeah those vids are not really any good. A minute and a half to listen to three off idle revs and the worlds slowest drive offs. Zzzzzzzzzzz....
Guess I gotta tape my Iphone to the back of my car and chirp some rubber.

I would go with the MRT 2 hands down. I had the Borla it wasnt loud enough for me and i couldnt wait to get a different exhaust. The MRT 2 has a sweet sounding system and its gives a good deep sound. The drone is not a problem with me its doesnt bother me what so ever. Great exhaust you cannot go wrong with it!
