Remove bow tie from ZL1 front grill?

What's the best way to remove the bow tie from the ZL1 front grill so I can custom paint it?

Not sure the "best" way . . . I know there are three clips . . . would need to get to the back side of the bow tie and push them out.

I can get to the left and right clips by sticking my finger through the grill slots. The top clip, however, appears unreachable from the front of the grill. I'm trying to find a way to remove it without having to remove the radiator cover.

you need to remove the radiator shroud and then reach your hand in to release the clips from above.

Only takes a few minutes to pop it out

On the ZL!'s there are only 3 tangs on the back bow tie, you will need to break one off. Don't remember if it's the middle upper or middle lower

No need to remove the radiator shroud, I used a 25 cm (10 inch) long flat head screwdriver (can probably use something of similar length), inserted in the opening of the hood latch on the shroud and pushed all 3 clips, one at a time. Easy takes about 30 secs.

Thank you! This is exactly the info I was looking for. Now I just have find a long flat head screw driver.

No problem, just did mine on the weekend. Just make sure it has at least a 10 inch reach (not including handle) and it shouldn't be a problem.
