Another drive and still ok. As for the dealerships giving people the thats normal routine mine did no such thing. Service rep looked at it then called the manager out and head mechanic and all agreed something was not right.

This is getting really old, I had my top replaced for a third time last fall (shortly before I put it away for the winter so it wasn't down much). Since pulling it out of storage, I have driven it with the top down three different times in the last couple of weeks and the dreaded rub marks have reappeared and gotten worse each time. My dealer who has been great to work with has said he has not heard anything from GM yet regarding a permanent fix. This is really getting old.

Per the people that run the program the fix is currently on the line. Problem is, it hasn't trickled down to those that need a fix yet. Parts are scarce. Ask Nutt, he had to wait on his whole assembly and water system. Patience is all I can say. Third time would warrant Lemon law in some states. Have you looked into that yet?

just stumbled across this thread today... i had my top replaced for "rub marks" last week. came back looking great. top looks tighter than new and bows are less visible than they were before. windows fit nicely.
that being said, it's gotten chilly in NY this week and I haven't retracted it since the work was done... I guess I'll anxiously hold my breath. on a good note, i was in the service shop about 5 minutes, a couple of guys looked at it, agreed it was not right, and fixed it for free with no questions asked. even set me up with a rental car at no cost to me.

Yes, I have looked at the South Dakota Lemmon law, after the fourth time is the charm in South Dakota (first issue has to occur in the first 12 months which isn't a problem for me). I have talked to my dealer about this topic (he is on notice that I will go down this route if GM doesn't fix this SOON).

The only fix I have seen that works is a total replacement from the production line. So far this is my fourth top and it does look really good, I just hope it continues as well as its going now. I have gotten a call from GM quality dept on how the top is working and if there are any noticeable rub marks.

Any chance you could tell me who your dealership is and provide a contact at the dealership along with a number. My dealership would like to have a conversation with them. Thanks Duckota |

PM sent, you need to make sure the GM rep is doing the new install otherwise even a complete replacement top is hit or miss. It is certainly not straight forward like the vettes.

Beautiful spring day, finish work a little early so I went for a little topless action. Well it is starting again. No not that! My PERMAGRIN!!! It's almost completely back everything is still working as it should and by the time I got back I was smiling like a silly school girl.

I guess I'm so used to people having it happen again that I just expect it. Excellent news that you are still going strong. But keep in mind that many of us got "the rubs" (It sounds like an intestinal disease) after 1000 miles (mine started at 1500 or so). looking forward to you having a clean bill of health. |
