2011 RS Door Leak

I had water leaking in between the door and the body. I YouTubed the problem and ordered new "water deflectors" as instructed. Looked easy enough to do by myself, but I wanted my long-term body shop, Quality Body Works, to analyze the problem as some posters had said after taking it to their dealership it came back with the same problem. They called me and said they found a defect in the manufacture of the door. The brace in the picture has two holes in it, these allow water to run right through and pound on the deflector. They have to be siliconed up to help improve your success rate. There was also a lack of tackiness in the factory deflector at the edge of the speaker, so when they put the new one back on they added half a strip of FlexSeal tape across the bottom just to be sure. The water deflectors are cheap, but shipping is ridiculous. Silicone these holes to improve your success rate. Good Luck.
